*Basic effect* Magician writes down a prediction on a small piece of paper - in this example it is a prediction of a playing card the spectator will be choosing momentarily. The prediction is folded and set out in full view.
Spectator then selects a card (7 of clubs), shows it around, memorizes it, etc.
It is shown the magician's prediction is incorrect - so he tears up the paper and lights it on fire then takes the ashes and smears them across his forearm revealing written in ash on his arm are the words 7 OF CLUBS!
